Professor Hongmei (Mary) He (FHEA, SIEEE) is Chair Professor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) at the University of Salford, Manchester, UK. She received her PhD in Computer Science from Loughborough University in 2006 and previously held research/academic posts at Bristol, Kent, Ulster, Cranfield, and De Montfort Universities. Before academia, she was a senior embedded systems engineer at Motorola Design House in China. Prof. Amine Bermak received the Masters and PhD degrees, both in electrical and electronic engineering, from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France in 1994 and 1998, respectively. He has held many positions in various continents including full Professor at HKUST Hong Kong, Senior lecturer at Edith Cowan University Australia and a Post-doc at York University, England in a project funded by British Aerospace. He is currently a Distinguished Professor and Associate Dean at the College of Science and Engineering (CSE), Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar. Prof. Bermak has made fundamental and seminal contributions that range from theory, circuit design techniques, and applications to working systems in the areas of ultra-low power sensory systems, applied to vision, olfaction, temperature sensors, wearable devices and AI systems. He is the recipient of 6 best papers awards and the winner of the 2011 Michael G. Gale Medal for distinguished teaching at HKUST and the “Engineering School Teaching Excellence Award". He is the recipient of the best researcher award at CSE in 2019 and best innovator award at HBKU in 2022; the service excellence award at HBKU in 2023 and research excellence award at HBKU in 2024. Gerald Penn is a Professor of Computer Science at University of Toronto, and a Fellow of Computer Science at St. Michael's College. Dr. Francesco Iarlori is an innovation strategist, AI advisor, and lecturer with over three decades of experience at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and complex organizations. His career spans public sector innovation, telecommunications, fintech, and emerging AI-driven infrastructures across Europe and the United States. He has held senior roles and advisory positions in large enterprises, public administrations, and international initiatives, contributing to projects involving autonomous systems, data-driven decision-making, open systems, and AI governance. Tetsuya Shimamura received his B.E., M.E. and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Keio University in Japan, in 1986, 1988 and 1991, respectively. In 1991, he joined Saitama University in Japan, where he is currently a Professor of Graduate School of Science and Engineering. He was Head of Department of Information and Computer Sciences at Saitama University in 2012 and 2013, and Dean of Information Technology Center in 2014 and 2015. In 1995 and 1996, he joined Loughborough University, UK, and The Queen’s University of Belfast, UK, respectively, as a visiting Professor. His research interests are in digital signal processing and its applications to speech, audio, image and communication systems. A various range of research is covered such as speech analysis, speech enhancement, image quality assessment, image restoration, wireless communication, sensor network and cognitive radio. Dr. Hongbin Ma has been a Professor at the School of Automation, Beijing Institute of Technology since he joined Beijing Institute of Technology in 2009. He received his bachelor degree from Zhengzhou University in 2001 and doctoral degree from the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2006. He joined Bell Labs Research Center at Beijing in March of 2006 and later joined Temasek Laboratories, National University of Singapore in August 2006 as a Research Scientist. His research focuses on adaptation, learning and recognition, especially adaptive estimation and control, as well as their applications in robots, smart cars, and UAVs. He is also a senior member of IEEE and Automation Society of China. Dr. Ma is the principle investigator of several scientific projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC), the programme of New Century Excellent Talents in University by Ministry of Education, the programme of Beijing Outstanding Talents Project, and so on. Dimah Dera is a Frederick and Anna B. Wiedman II Professor at the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and M.A. in Mathematics from Rowan University, NJ. Dimah received the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Initiation Initiative (CRII), Award No. 2401828, in 2023 and the NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) supplement award in 2024 for her current research focusing on robust and trustworthy machine learning. She won several research Awards at IEEE conferences and in the Engineering community, including the Best Paper Award at the 2019 IEEE International Workshop on Machine Learning for Signal Processing, the NJ Tech Council STEM Innovator to Watch Award (2019), and the IEEE Philadelphia Section Benjamin Franklin Key Award (2021). Dimah has served as a member of the IEEE Signal Processing and Computational Intelligence Societies as well as a member of the ACM SIGHPC Association for Computing Machinery. Wai Lam received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. He obtained his BSc. and M.Phil. degrees from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. After completing his Ph.D. degree, he conducted research at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and the University of Iowa. He joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he is currently a professor. His research interests include text mining, large language models, natural language processing, and machine learning. He has published articles in IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, ACM Transactions on Information Systems, etc. His research projects have been funded by the Hong Kong SAR Government General Research Fund (GRF) and DARPA (USA). He also managed industrial projects funded by Innovation and Technology Fund (industrial grant) and IT companies.

Dr. Sakai had received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology in 1986 and joined Toyota Motor Corporation. Dr. Amal Jlassi is a PhD holder in Computer Science, an NVIDIA Ambassador, and a Deep Learning Instructor, with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Multimodal AI, and Medical Image Analysis.
